We rebuilt the parking lot for fiber optics in Pomfret. This is the perfect example for why you need to make sure the base gravel is suitable to pave over. The existing material was a combination of saturated clay and loam with a few inches of gravel on top. The moment we put a truck on it it sunk out of sight. (Slide 2) #asphaltpaving #asphaltlife

The entrance to Jolley precast got a facelift today. Two courses of class 1 asphalt at 2” for a heavy duty 4” finish will handle the daily heavy traffic nicely.

Road work for the town of Willimantic consisted of milling the existing road followed by excavation of unsuitable base material import of processed gravel in a 6” lift, fine grade and pave a binder course. A sidewalk will be installed and we will come back to pave the top.
